The Schuler Scholar Program is seeking energetic, enthusiastic individuals with STEM backgrounds in math, physics, chemistry, and/or biology to tutor high school students enrolled in the Schuler Scholar Program.

Schuler Scholars attend 13 different high schools, located in the northern suburbs, as far north as Zion, all the way to the south side of Chicago. Tutors could service up to two or three schools, depending on individual schedules. Positions are open in the northern suburb locations (Waukegan/Highland Park areas) or Chicago locations. We are willing to offer flexible hours and days. This job is ideal for teachers who are now staying at home with their children and want to remain involved in education, or retired teachers who want to remain in education in a more limited capacity.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will be former teachers with at least three years experience, looking for a way to still be involved with students, though we will consider applicants with successful tutoring experience. A degree in education is not necessary. Applicants should, of course, love working with teens and have a desire to spread STEM positivity to Scholars so they will be successful in their STEM classes. Tutors should be able to instruct all levels of their discipline, from the beginning level to AP level.
