Happy New Year! After what felt like an extended break, we’re pressing into 2025 with a recipe for you to swish away the winter doldrums and take advantage of what a new year will bring.

  1. Reboot yourself. Much like a computer or phone, we humans sometimes need a reboot — a restart to incorporate the newest elements of ourselves. I love the image of this – the physical shedding of things that may be weighing us down or causing sluggishness with a clean slate to move faster and operate forward with updated experiences, new skills and new interests. So press restart!
  2. Clear the blocker. If there’s something holding you back, address the problem. For example, do the questions, “what do you want to do?”, or, “why are you making this change?” cause you to freeze up and doubt everything? Diminished confidence is getting in your way — time to rebuild it. Maybe you have too many obligations that don’t allow you to focus on yourself? Time to scale back and protect your time.
  3. Keep the faith. As of November last year, there were over 8 million jobs open. There is one for you out there! More on this to come – the jobs report is out on Friday…
  4. Do the work. Job searching is not for the faint of heart. It requires dedication, a plan, hard work, and resilience. The first step in a new direction is getting clear on what it is you want to do. If you’re clear, you’ll spend less time scrolling aimlessly on job boards and more time focusing your efforts toward positive outcomes.

IT IS YOUR TURN!
