The firm intentionally does no outbound marketing – our clients are referred to us by people we know and trust. Growth comes primarily from existing client referrals, and we are very selective with whom we choose to work. It’s a carefully chosen group of exceptionally talented people, who also share our values. Clients are located throughout the country, with the largest concentration in the San Francisco area.
This is a high-impact role – you will own a very significant portion of the firm’s client service and operations responsibilities, reporting to me. Importantly, this role involves no travel and no selling – the focus is on providing me scale so that I can spend even more of my time with clients, focus even more on the most critical needs of every client, and grow the business.
There is significant room to take on increasing responsibilities as the firm grows, and transition portions of your responsibilities to future colleagues. Current examples of work you would do are below. And it’s fine if you are not expert in all these topics today – I’ve done each one many dozens of times and will explain and teach what’s needed and I know there will be a learning curve and a ramp-up period.
While experience in wealth management or a similar field is helpful, it’s not required, and you do need to enjoy the world of personal finance. If you have the ambition and self-motivation, I can teach you all the industry-specific knowledge that’s needed. Similarly, years of experience matter far less that what you’ve achieved and learned in those years. You will not need any securities industry licenses. You will need to be very adept with technology, and a capable user of Gmail, Google Calendar, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Other applications we use include Nimble, DocuSign, Clearnomics, Boomerang, Uberconference, Webflow, Trello, Sharefile, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. And given the highly confidential nature of the firm’s work, discretion and privacy are of the utmost importance.
The role is based in Weston, MA. It’s a full-time role. We can of course fine-tune this if the ideal workday for you is different and there is the option to work remotely when I’m traveling, which is usually 4-6 days a month.
