After years of letting her help boost the company’s revenues, Facebook added COO Sheryl Sandberg to its board — the first woman to be named to the social network’s board. The appointment comes just weeks after the company went public, and after activist groups pressured Facebook to diversify its all white-male board.

Facebook is not the only company out there needing to take a look at its female representation: 1 in 10 do not have any women at all on their boards. (See stats on women in corporate leadership positions.)

Congratulations, Sheryl.
