Kara is a workforce consultant, educator, and founder of the Ideal Work Lab project. Her mission is to help overwhelmed professionals, teams and organizations conquer work dilemmas, get wildly empowered, engaged and energized, and do their BEST work. She’s a working mother who believes we do our BEST work when we align work with our life.
As a consultant, Kara combines talent acquisition and development best practices with the science of flow energy to increase workplace engagement and performance. Kara’s expertise is in designing and leading highly engaging experiential training programs and workshops.
The Ideal Work Lab is a learning lab focused helping professionals conquer work dilemmas such as making a job transition, finding flexible work, and navigating the search for ideal work. As part of learning in virtual classes, professionals use the research-based Ideal Work Lab Method as the framework to identify and apply simple habits to shift toward ideal work. The IWL curriculum includes group programs & drop-in-classes targeted to support these groups: MBA students, mid-career professionals, and working moms/dual-career parents.
Kara has 13 years of corporate insider leadership experience in human resources, recruiting, and learning & development with Fortune 500 companies including General Mills, Whirlpool, and Deloitte. She completed a Masters in Human Resources from Michigan State University, completed a B.S. in Sociology and Music Performance from University of Wisconsin @ Madison. Kara recently competed the Level 1 Reiki certification.
Kara’s joy outside of work involves family time with her two kids and husband, yoga, running, and meditation.
